Summer Love #4 - Body Products

I have been so obsessed with all of these products this summer!

1. Yardley English Lavender Soap
This soap smells so amazing and feels really wonderful on the skin. I discovered the Yardley Lily of The Valley soap at a small pharmacy that was closing and I loved it, so when I saw it in Lavender I had to have it!

2. J.R. Watkins Lavender Lotion
I had the Lavender Body Butter from J.R. Watkins before, but then I tried the lotion and realized the lotion does the exact same thing, comes with more than twice the amount in the bottle, and costs the same! This stuff is awesome though. I use it on my hands and chest before bed, it is so soothing.

3. Spa Wisdom Africa Body Scrub from The Body Shop
Best scrub ever. It exfoliates really well and is so silky on the skin. Even though it is a little pricy ($28 Canadian), it's totally worth it!

4. Spa Wisdom Africa Body Balm from the Body Shop
This cream has the same scent as the scrub above and is the best body cream I have EVER used. It is really light on your skin, but it moisturizes so well. Such a lovely smell for summer too!

5. Biore Purify Daily Scrub
I recently bought this and I wasn't sure how much I would like it. I tend to switch facial cleansers a lot because I can never find one that I like. I think I will actually stick with this one for more than one bottle! It is creamy and feels soothing on the skin, I love that because usually I find facial scrubs to be a bit harsh for my sensitive skin.

6. Biore Triple Action Astringent
This astringent is really intense! It makes my face feel icy cold and so so clean.

7. Philosophy Vanilla Birthday Cake Body Wash/Shampoo/Bubble Bath from Sephora
When I signed up for a Sephora card they gave me this body wash as my "birthday gift" because my birthday had past about a month before. It smells so delicious! I usually use it as body wash, but I have tried it as a shampoo as well (it says on the bottle it can be both and a bubble bath). It worked really nicely as a shampoo too. My hair was silky and felt really clean.

Summer Love #2 - Makeup

My must have summer makeup products!

1. MAC Mineralize Skin Finish
This powder is so light and perfect for summer. It leaves my skin feeling so velvety and looking flawless. It is much lighter that the Studio Fix powder from MAC and way better for summer weather.

2. Urban Decay Complexion Brightening Primer Potion
I wasn't sure if I would like this when I bought it, but I have actually started to love it! It keeps my makeup in place all day and doesn't feel sticky or heavy on my skin.

3. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
This is my go-to moisturizer. I use it most in the summer when I need something that will do the job without being too thick and oily.

4. Quo Minerals Matter Eye Quad in Mauvecious
Okay, I haven't bought this one yet... but I am going to this weekend! I have been looking at it every time I go to Shoppers. The colours are so gorgeous and although you can't really see it from the picture, the packaging is not plastic and is very sleek.

5. Blinc Black Mascara
Because I have allergies, my eyes water a lot in the summer. I love this mascara because it doesn't come off when my eyes water, or when I rub them! I find that when I wear it alone it makes my lashes stick together, but I think that is just the fault of the wand. I usually put on a regular black mascara that has a wand I like, and when it dries I apply the Blinc mascara on top.

6. MAC Mineralize Blush
After I loved the Mineralize Skin Finish, I thought I might as well try the Mineralize blush too! The one I have is a really wonderful colour for my skin and has continued to look nice as I have gotten more tanned over the summer.

7. Covergirl Sensitive Skin Clean Foundation
This is my all time favourite foundation. I have been using it for years and it always delivers. I find that if I am only planning on wearing powder this takes the place of concealer for me, and usually when I do apply it to my whole face, I don't need to ad any other concealer. It's surprising that it can have such great coverage because it really is so light on the skin.

Cool & Casual

This was my casual grocery shopping outfit. The nearest grocery store is about a 20 minute walk away... or a $2.75 bus ride (we have no money... we walk), so I wanted to be comfortable and keep cool in the summer sun! It worked out perfectly and I was even able to put some groceries in my purse to limit the number of things I had to carry :)

This has been my favourite hairstyle lately. It's two french braids meeting in the bottom right corner of my head and a messy bun. So quick and easy to do when I can't be bothered to straighten my hair!

Bloopers: Some outdoor fluff or something got in my eye. Elliott doesn't stop taking pictures, regardless of what I am doing.

London!

Hello! I am the worst blogger on the planet, I always forget to post! Things have been crazy lately though so I have an excuse, for the last few weeks anyway. Elliott and I just moved to London, Ontario. So far we are loving our new place. I will post some before and after pictures when we have all our art and everything up on the walls. That is really the only thing left to do.
OK - So, here is my first London outfit post. It was taken on our patio, we are on the ground floor so we actually have some grass space too (so nice to have!) It was around 2 or 3 in the afternoon when we took these and it was so windy. By about 8 it was pouring rain with crazy lightening and thunder. Half the power went out in our building.. then all the power went out and it wasn't all back on until about 9 am.

Valentines Day

I just came across this picture of Elliott and I on Valentines Day of this year. We asked his dad to take a  picture of us before we went to dinner and this was the result:

I specifically wanted a good picture of the dress I was wearing. It was the one I mentioned in a previous post that I had made for myself. Here you can see the top of the dress... hopefully I can get a better picture of the whole dress soon!

Canada Blooms

Canada Blooms was in Toronto a few weeks ago and of course I had to go.
I have to say, this year was disappointing compared to last year. I think because the theme was different, it had less things that interested me... plus I went on the very last day so a lot of the vendors were tired and less than excited to be there. I still had a great time.

One thing I didn't take a picture of that I really should have was the breakfast crepe I had. AMAZING. I get one every time I am at the International Centre. There is a little crepe stand that is at all the shows and sells way overpriced crepes($8!). They are totally worth it though!!

One of the table settings that I fell in love with:

Something that I am SO glad you can't see in this picture:
One of the first things Elliott and I did when we arrived at the International Centre was grab some ice cream. Obviously I spilled immediately on to my brand new white shirt. This was the first time I had even worn it! A little dot of chocolate ice cream got onto the very centre of one side of my chest.. worst possible spot. In the end it was okay because the stain came out when I washed it, but it was a pain in the butt having to adjust my jacket to cover the mark all day!

One Of A Kind

Lately my mom and I have been doing a lot of things together in preparation for me moving away for school in the fall. We recently went to the One Of A Kind spring show in Toronto. Every year we go to the Christmas one and the spring one.

Typical art teacher :)

We stopped at Yorkdale on the way home. I scored big time on some bras at Victoria Secret, and picked up some essentials from MAC.

Saint Jacobs, Ontario

My mom and I recently took a trip to Saint Jacobs, north of Toronto. These are some of the pictures we took while we were away...

Visiting a glass working studio

Dinner at a new restaurant

 Breakfast area in B&B

AMAZING bead store!

I was in love with everything in this store!! It was organized by colour, which was weird and yet extremely helpful when shopping for others. The bead store was actually organized by colour too.
(bag I am holding was in the store, not mine)
scarf: suzy shier, bag: gap, boots: pickering town centre, jeans & poncho sweater: walmart

LEGO store in the Outlet Mall. We sat for probably an hour building our lego creations! Mine is on the left: clearly a well-structure tower, my mom's on the right: ...? Haha, she said it was a "creative sculpture"

We had a great time away for the weekend. The only bad part about the trip was that I left a book I just bought in the bakery where we had lunch one day. Gone forever, but someone else will find a good read :)

Rosie the Riveter: pronoun; a nickname given to any US woman who worked in a factory during World War 2

Finally it is starting to feel a little bit like spring! Today was the first day that it was actually above 0°C (currently it is 2°C). I was so excited that I had to break out my chambray dress from H&M that has been sadly hanging in my closet for months. It was nice because we were having company for dinner, which means I immediately want to dress up but never completely do because everyone else is always wearing jeans, so this was a nice mix of casual and "nice". Elliott (my amazing man who will hopefully be in a Valentine's Day picture with me tomorrow that I can post) said I looked like a factory girl from the 1930's because of the style of dress and the colours I was wearing. I think virtually all women from that era look gorgeous and romantic so I was completely okay with his observation :)

These pictures are taken in my basement apartment (never move to a basement!) that I have done my best to convert into a living space without painting or moving large bookshelves and a massive tv cabinet that were there when we moved in. Behind me you can see my $14 coat rack from Walmart that has amazingly held the weight of ALL my coats. On the far right there is a little preview of the dress (black and white spotted) I will be wearing tomorrow to Valentine's Day dinner with Elliott. I made it last week and have had it hanging there ever since. I am so excited to finally wear it!!

product: noun; result or goods created

I religiously follow the glamourai on blogger, and recently "liked" her facebook page. I completely admire her style and the way she mixes prints flawlessly. Everything about her blog is exciting to me, including her shop, where I wish I could afford anything from!

Here are my latest obsessions from her online store:

this is an older necklace that is no longer available in the online store
